How would you describe your experience using WIVI Vision in daily practice?
Thanks to having a tool like WIVI Vision in our establishment, we have improved two fundamental aspects in the assessments such as the measurement time, as we obtain many parameters in just 12 minutes and in the customer experience, as through the game, we are performing measurements and vision training with practically no effort.
What motivated you to implement WIVI Vision? What were the main reasons for choosing this technology?
One of the main reasons, in addition to those mentioned above, is that WIVI Vision has a health licence granted by the AEMPS to ensure that it is safe for patients. In this way, all the treatments offered are guaranteed.
How is WIVI Vision different from other traditional vision assessment and therapy tools?
From my point of view, it is a tool that can be used for both diagnosis and treatment. Most of the tools I know of are used to perform exercises or isolated diagnostic tests. In addition to treating binocular dysfunctions, you can also do training to improve reading performance, improve visual skills to better adapt to progressive lenses, among others.
How does the use of this technology affect the patient experience, especially in children or older people?
When we carry out diagnostic tests, perhaps the most surprised are the adults, as they do not expect that we are going to carry out so many measurements through a game, in the case of children they just play and we obtain very reliable results in the measurements.
In the case of visual training, both understand it and put it into practice very well, but I would dare say that it is the adults who work with more enthusiasm, perhaps because while they are working (playing) I explain to them what skills are being worked on and everyone wants to achieve the best results.
What steps do you follow during the visit when you work with WIVI Vision?
First of all, we carry out a complete visual examination to carry out a refraction and find out the state of the visual system, as the only requirement for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment with WIVI Vision is that both eyes are functional, i.e. that they work together and that there is no significant difference in visual acuity between them. Once we consider that they are suitable for this test, in 12 minutes we obtain the results of numerous visual skills such as: near visual acuity, 3D vision (stereopsis), convergence, divergence, accommodation and ocular motility.
In the case of training, the exercises are individually programmed, 2 or 3 times a week and the sessions usually last 20 minutes. The number of sessions depends on the visual dysfunction.
How do patients perceive the use of this technology in their treatment? Do they find it more comfortable or interesting?
I think that patients are delighted, as through the game, they improve visual skills that are diminished, almost without effort or discomfort, it does not take much time away from their daily lives and the best thing of all is that the symptoms with which they came with disappear and that these results are maintained over time.
