Tonometry: Ocular tonometry measures intraocular pressure (IOP). It is performed using a tonometer. Intraocular pressure must be within normal parameters, which is very important to prevent certain eye diseases that can be serious.
Corneal topography: It is a non-invasive diagnostic test that consists of a study of the geometry of the cornea whose objective is to analyse the irregularities that may exist in the relief and curvature of its surface. Biometrics: Ocular biometry is a diagnostic test that allows us to determine the axial length of the eye, i.e. the distance between the apex of the cornea and the retina. With this test we can carry out a study and monitor the control of the progression of myopia. The main function of the optical biometer is to control myopia, mainly in children, as it is at this age that the prescription increases most rapidly, due to the fact that it is directly related to the growth of the eye. Thanks to its extreme precision, the biometer makes it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatments being applied to the young patient. To counteract childhood myopia, a complete annual check-up with an optical biometer is necessary in order to detect possible changes and detect problems in time.
